Keswick Reach Lodge Retreat was constructed and opened as a brand new holiday resort in the idyllic setting of the Lake District. NBDA were appointed to design a bespoke new build amenity building containing restaurant, bar, reception and checking, gym, spa featuring treatment rooms, sauna, and jacuzzi. The building design was influenced by the landscape with a single storey building, set low to the ground designed to maximize the scenery, views and impact on the environment minimised. Building materials were kept to a simple pallet of glass, render, local stone and a green roof. The interior design was also a bespoke to the building with the client brief implemented with a contemporary take on a traditional interior. All of the interior joinery, feature timber ceilings and paneling, bar design etc. was detailed in house by NBDA.

The construction of the building was done to a very compressed programme, as such the main contractor was appointed via negotiated tender, and the construction methods chosen due to speed of construction on site.
